Inexpensive Wine Gifts

Inexpensive Wine Gifts

A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou.

This famous quote, written in 1859, is credited to Edward Fitzgerald’s translation of poems by Omar Khayyam. Fitzgerald changed the words a bit, but the meaning is the same.

Wine is the drink people pour when romancing their intended; it also one that people imbibe when they raise a toast to a happy occasion. When we socialize in the homes of others, wine is the beverage most often offered. Drinking the fruit of the vine is part of many religious ceremonies, and many children get their first taste when they are partaking in a religious ritual.

Many people are introduced to sweet wines when they are teens (think Boones Farm), and as they get older, progress to Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Riesling.

Wine can also be a display of your social status. Yes, there are wine snobs, and some will not touch certain brands because they have “graduated” to more expensive vineyards.  I have known a few in my time, and they can be quite annoying. As long as it tastes good, I don’t care how much the bottle cost you!

A bottle of wine is also the perfect hostess gift to bring when you have been invited over someone’s home for a meal. You cannot go wrong with this in hand, because not only did you remember your manners by not showing up without a gift of thanks, the host can either serve it with dinner or hold onto it if she already has enough open bottles on the table.

But what if the person who likes wine has tastes that exceed your budget (the previously mentioned wine snob) What can you give as an inexpensive wine gift that s/he will appreciate?

Here are some suggestions for you.

Oster Electric Wine-Bottle Opener

A #1 Best Seller

Have you ever struggled with a cork that is stuck in too tight? Have you ever massacred a cork so badly that bits of it wind up floating inside the bottle? Have you ever had a knife or scissor slip as you try to remove the foil and you wind up cutting yourself?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, the this wine bottle opener is for you and any wine lover you know.

This is cordless and can open up 30 bottles on a single charge (that means it is good for a few parties, not just one night). Just push the button and voila! The bottle is open. There is also a foil cutter for easy opening. It has a sleek stainless steel appearance that matches many people’s kitchen décor.

Sometimes, despite your best efforts, the bottle remains unfinished. Letting it go flat and spoil is a terrible thing! With this set of colorful wine stoppers, which fit most standard wine bottles, not a drop needs to ever go to waste. With different colors, you can tell which wine is which if you decide to color code your stash. They are washable and can be used over and over again.

Oenophilia Bottle Bouquet Wine Rack, Black – 6 Bottle

A beautiful display!

Are you unsure of what bottle to bring? Do you want to give a gift that will be used over and over again and leave a lasting impression? Then this is the gift to give. Many people have had large wine racks that take up space and go unused, because most people, even wine lovers, do not have two dozen bottles sitting around at any given time.

This bottle bouquet comes in classic black and holds six bottles-not too much and not too little. It is the perfect party size and after a few disappear, it is not expensive to replace for the next time.
