Clocks for Any Room in the Home
Sailing Vessels are a Perfectly Nautical Theme
Which room in your home needs a beautiful and useful addition to the decor? Whether it’s a home office, a kitchen, living room, den, or bedroom, a wall or desk clock that echoes the call of the sea will be a beautiful touch that serves more of a purpose than just looking pretty. Tell the time in nautical style. These three entries for your own personal regatta are all from Amazon:
Brighten any shelf, desk, mantle, or dresser with this delightful sailboat clock.
It’s hand sculpted in metal, and accented with beautiful natural capiz shell. The turquoise and tan color scheme is a natural complement to just about any decorating theme. However, it’s a natural for a coastal or nautical decor or for any room in a beach cottage.
Here’s an old vessel under full sail, a clock with sailor’s knots in place of the usual numbers, and a helm, each framed by life-preserver. The helm is a favorite nautical theme, second only to anchors, so this wall clock is sure to be a hit on a wall of the home of a sea loving family, as well as guests, who will be greeted with a ‘welcome aboard’ message.
Size: 25 inches long.
It’s by Bulova, so you know this is a quality timepiece.
The materials are quality, too – solid crystal for the sailboat and solid mahogany for the base.
What more could a sailor ask for? Surely a treasured gift for someone special!

Wind Power Through the Ages
For thousands of years, man has harnessed the power of the wind to travel on water. Artifacts and inscriptions in tombs tell us ancient Egyptians navigated the Nile in sailboats. The Vikings plied the treacherous North Atlantic over 10 centuries ago, and Columbus discovered the new world, traveling in boats with sails.
Today, sea-going men and women still find it hard to resist the allure of silently slipping across the waves on sailboats. And, in many locations, others make their living from the sea, in boats powered by the wind.
It’s no wonder sailboats are a popular theme in decor… they’re part of the history of the human race.
Nautical Clocks for the Den, Office, or a Man Cave
Either of these selections would be well suited to a den that is done in earth tones, or even a man cave that needs a manly timepiece.
The first one, above, after the style of the impressionist artists, is in warm earth tones, and comes in your choice of three sizes.

The first ever man to sail solo around the world was Joshua Slocum (1844-1909), an American born in Nova Scotia. The voyage, which he began in 1895, took him a little over three years. The name of his sloop was Spray.
On returning home, he wrote an account of the voyage, which is still widely read today. Sailing Alone Around the World is available on Amazon.
